THQ Nordic broadcast a longer spotlight on Alone in the Dark last night and in the course of it confirmed a whole series of information about the horror revival – including the release date and the cast of Hollywood stars.
The remake of the survival horror classic Alone in the Dark has tangibly taken shape, as evidenced in a lengthy spotlight broadcast by THQ Nordic last night. In the course of this, the release date has now been confirmed: From October 25th you will be able to face the horror.
Two well-known actors will also be on board, as the leading roles will be played by Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”, “Free Guy”) and David Harbor (“Stranger Things”, “Black Widow”). Above all, Harbor has achieved absolute cult status thanks to the Netflix series and should therefore make the hearts of fans beat faster, as he is really unmistakable in the game.
Even better: You can already get an idea of Alone in the Dark for yourself, because THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive have also released a playable prologue for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (via Steam ) published. However, in this opening demo, you take on the role of a young girl named Grace Saunders who is trying to send a letter. The prologue does not yet contain any fights; rather, it should offer a foretaste of the atmosphere and mood in the finished game.
In October, the full version will have you playing either Comer’s Emily Hartwood or Harbour’s private investigator Edward Carnby, and you’ll have to unravel the mysteries of a haunted house. In the rural hospital, known as Derceto Manor, you go in search of Emily’s missing uncle Jeremy Hartwood, among other things.
Other characters in the survival horror game are meant to react differently depending on which main character you’re playing. So you get to see different parts of the story depending on whether you’re with Emily or Edward. In addition to “intense and tough” fights, there will also be puzzles to be solved.
Alone in the Dark will be released on October 25, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
