Make your tax return easier with a DNI reader

DNI, easier, reader, Return, tax

We are in the time of tax return, and many of you have never done it or can’t remember your passwords to access the draft. Today we are going to see how to access the declaration and any other government procedure in a much easier way, using a simple identification reader by USB.

Using an ID reader we can do thousands of procedures without passwords (including tax return) both for us and if a family member needs help, as we will only need to use a physical ID which we should all have on hand. Unlike a key or a box that we may not remember or lose.

Using a DNI reader for the declaration, how does it work?

The mechanism is very simple, we buy a reader compatible with the Spanish national identity document, which I will leave below as a recommendation, and by inserting the card the system itself will recognize it and we can access it through DNI.

These readers are already delivered with the drivers and everything necessary so that once connected they will install themselves, just wait a moment and that’s it. Its difficulty is therefore nil. Anyone can have one without computer knowledge, it would be the same as inserting a flash drive. Of course, you must use a compatible browser, in this case If you use Windows, it is better to do it with Edge, the default browser. If you use any other, you might have problems. Then you just have to access the page you want and when it asks you for the access data, click on the electronic identifier as you will see in the previous image.

In the past, these devices were very expensive and it was not worth having one in our house, however, now its price is ridiculously low and it can save us some trouble. With it, as I told you, you can perform multiple procedures, not only the declaration, but also see the points of your driving license, for example.

I’ll leave you one here that works for both MacOS and Windows and that it is very cheap, right now you will find it for 9.99$ on Amazon. Plus, it’s much smaller and more portable than the old ones.

There are also even smaller NFC readers, but they are not suitable for all IDs, only the latest models.

Either way, it’s an easy system and it can help you in an emergency or for a family member who isn’t very up to date with technology, however, I would recommend getting the certificate digital with a public administration body such as the Treasury or the INSS and therefore you do not need to have passwords or external devices to carry out these procedures. This is the easiest and safest way that currently exists.
