If you like movies Christopher nolanYou probably know that Oppenheimer hits theaters on July 19th. As a reminder, this is a feature film that illustrates the life of Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who is known to have worked as a scientific director on the Manhattan Project.

The British director has celebrated numerous successes, especially with films such as the trilogy The dark knight, Inception or even Interstellar, which have impressed many viewers around the world. These days, Christopher Nolan regularly returns to his filmography, especially when he mentions the most underrated feature film of his career. He recently spoke about his trilogy in an interview The dark knight and Batman movie titles from Tim Burton. He compared his works with those of the American director:

If you look at what Tim Burton did, it’s actually about creating a world that Batman fits into. It’s a big Gothic vision that’s very cohesive and consistent with the character of Batman, particularly in the comics. It was an ordinary world that we got to experience in Gotham. When someone sees Batman in Gotham, it’s just as amazing as it is in our world. I wanted an extraordinary character rooted in an ordinary world. That wasn’t what Tim did, so I thought it would be a completely different direction.

It shows how quickly things change in the film industry, but conceptually there was no “reboot”. That idea didn’t exist when I started watching Batman. It’s new terminology. Warner Bros. had the rights to this wonderful character and I didn’t know what to do with him. It had hit a dead end on the previous iteration.

Needless to say, Christopher Nolan’s trilogy left a mark on fans of this dark superhero forever. Although Tim Burton’s films are wildly different, this offers a different vision of Batman but also of his surroundings with Gotham.
