To say that the movie Super Mario Bros. was successful would be an understatement. Although it has been almost 2 months since the movie premiered in theaters, it is still breaking records and achieving milestones. In fact, this weekend reached another milestone.
Just over a week after the film surpassed Incredibles 2 in worldwide sales, the Nintendo and Illumination film has now surpassed Frozen 1 in worldwide sales. It has grossed over $1,288,000,000 worldwide. The only 2 animated films that were better were Frozen 2 and the remake of Disney’s The Lion King. They managed to get $1,450,000,000 and $1,660,000,000 respectively.
