You might think that a series that has been a staple of the RTS genre since 2006 has little ability to surprise you these days, but Company of Heroes 3 proves you wrong. The latest entry in one of the most respected and influential franchises of its kind, the game has significantly lowered the barrier to entry in its latest console release…and it may have just proved that the RTS genre deserves a proper Opt for a renaissance away from the home of the PC.
As you can see in the video above, Company of Heroes 3 – the real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sega for Windows, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S – is easy to understand, read and Great for consoles.
Company of Heroes 3 has been reimagined from the inside out to make it work – and feel good! – when you play with the pads in hand. Full controller support, custom UI, and features let you play at your own pace, so you only struggle with the hard parts of the game. You won’t face artificial difficulties due to user experience or interface issues. You have time to learn, adapt and respond – creating a true tactical experience.
A lot of the ease of use here comes down to the fully tactical pause mechanic. This feature instantly freezes the action and allows you to read the situation, queue up orders and unleash devastating precision play without the chaos and fuss. This means you can line up a company’s actions on the other side of the map while micromanaging things closer to home in the process–ideal when the battlefield really starts to heat up. .
This isn’t one of those real-time strategy games that locks you into one map and one campaign. The North African operation is the main storyline here (focusing on the battles of Tobruk and Alamein, among others), but there’s also a dynamic Italian campaign that the developers call a “sandbox” experience where you have to oversee the whole as you progress from one The war effort in the region when the battle jumped to another battle.
