stardew valley Players may finally get their wish in the game’s next update.
The game’s creator, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, teased that tool upgrades might be coming soon.
Teasing is a possible upgrade for the scythe, allowing players to upgrade from gold to iridium.
The current tool, the golden sickle, has a much larger radius than the standard sickle and is more likely to cut all the grass within its radius. Each swipe has a 75% chance to harvest hay from brush, up from 50% when using a standard scythe. The gold version also deals 13 damage to enemies, up from 1-3.
With an iridium sickle, you can expect a larger cutting radius and deal more damage to enemies.
Since ConcernedApe is pausing development on Haunted Chocolatier, a new update 1.6 has been promised for Stardew Valley. The only thing we know about the current update is that there will be a new conversation.
Haunted Chocolatier is still in early development and you make chocolates and run a chocolate shop. For now, the game has only been announced for PC, but it’s coming to other major platforms as well.
This isn’t the only game Barone is working on. In 2020, he revealed that there are two new games in development, but they are still a long way from completion. It’s easy to assume one of these is Haunted Chocolateier. He also said that one of the games takes place in the world of Stardew Valley, but it’s not a farming game, and he’s not 100% sure about that world yet, but it will also tie into Stardew Valley in some way.
Released in February 2016, Stardew Valley has sold over 20 million copies across all platforms and 13 million on PC alone as of March 2022.
