Well folks, another week has come and gone. As far as live news goes, it was admittedly a bit quiet… until it stopped! Yes, at the end of the week Nintendo decided to announce Everybody 1-2 Switch!, the sequel to the polarizing launch game, 1-2 Switch!, coming out on June 30, 2023.
Not only that, but we’ve also received word that two pairs of pastel-themed Joy-Con controllers will also be launching on the same day, so that’s nice!
In other news, the folks over at Critical Role have taken over a ‘one-shot’ tabletop RPG special featuring Hyrule from Tears of the Kingdom. Speedrunners should also check out a recent video of one player beating the latest Zelda in less than an hour – what?! That’s insane.
It was also revealed that Sonic co-creator Yuji Naka could face more than two years in prison following his insider trading scandal, while Capcom’s long-time producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya appears to have left the company after nearly 30 years.
Now it’s time to relax and play games. Our writers share their plans for the weekend below, and we want to hear from you!

I don’t deny that I’ve been wrong about this before, but I really think I’m coming to the end of the Kingdom of Tears main story now. I goal is to collect credits for this giant and then go and play something else for a while before I come back and start real a game of exploring the other 99% of the world that I feel I’ve been missing so far.
So that will be my weekend – however predictable – of playing Zelda. Maybe next week I’ll break the chain… Or maybe I’ll find out that I actually have a huge amount of story left and will be playing this game forever. Oh God, it’s definitely the latter, isn’t it…

I’m still on hiatus from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom; it has become more of an extended break at this point. Instead, I’m still working my way through Bioshock, and I’ve also started Disco Elysium. The debacle around ZA|UM somehow pushed me to play it again.
Through series X, I play to the end Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It’s such a wonderful game; I like that.

Hey guys, I’m going to be stuck in a dark and deranged universe this weekend Diablo IV. This time I’m building a devastating, chunky Werewolf Druid. Aside from my Sanctuary escapades, I’ll be looking forward to checking out Game Grumps new horror game, Homebody. I’m a long time fan of the Grumps games, I dabbled in Dream Daddy quite a bit (for about two years the Dream Daddy theme song was my tune).
I’m also going on a little trip this weekend, so best to pack my OLED Switch for the occasional Tears of the Kingdom session.
Happy gaming!

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is still on my “to do list”, I’ve famously only cleared a few levels for The Emperor and I really want to finish it. However, what catches my attention this weekend is HR Project Games’ sneaky release of the GyroGunner, an unexpected sequel to their more vanilla but no less stellar GyroBlade. This time it’s a twin shooter with a lot of success for very little money. Don’t skip it, especially if you like a challenge with good reflexes and high score chases.
Game of the week continues to be The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It took over my life. I spent almost twenty minutes alone each session scanning the daily amiibo drops.
Zion Grassl, Senior Video Producer
I never really feel like I have that much time these days for video games, but maybe that’s because I’m always comparing and remembering how invested I was in them as a kid? Still, I somehow managed to sink nearly a hundred hours into The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom within the first three weeks, but strangely, I don’t feel like that’s all that unusual considering so many of our readers and viewers also spend all their time with it!
So, to no one’s surprise, I will once again return to the land of Hyrule. Just like I do every weekend, and probably will for the foreseeable future. Losing this again in a Zelda game is pure bliss and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

After missing WAYP for a few weeks… I’m still playing Tears of the Kingdom, mostly exclusively. I don’t think I should share my hour count at this point, but I’ve made sure to play this game 100%. Ask me about that for a few weeks, especially after a specific edition of the RPG for PS5…
That’s all from me! Happy gaming! And I hope you are all enjoying the sun.
