There opening speech that kicked off WWDC23 is already over, and with it we have an avalanche of news coming out now and throughout what’s left of the year. And yes, everything is presided over by the Vision Pro which takes us into Apple’s vision of what augmented reality should be.

Equipment: the Vision Pro arrive to open a new market
- The Vision Pro bills itself as the world’s first space computing device. Apple wants to usher in a new era with a new type of device.
- The new 15-inch MacBook Airs finally offer the possibility of a great laptop for non-professionals. 18 hours of battery life for those who want a screen before anything else.
- The new Mac Studio launches the M2 Max and M2 Ultra in style, elevating their capabilities to new frontiers.
- The new Mac Pro with M2 Ultra close the loop: finally the most demanding professionals have their Mac and we can finally say goodbye to Intel chips within Apple for good.
Software: iOS 17 and visionOS are the most important new features
- iOS 17 comes with new contact cards, AirDrop improvements, a new streamlined interface in iMessage, and a new journaling app.
- iPadOS 17 releases the iPhone Lock Screen widgets, in addition to the new wallpaper management present in iOS 16.
- macOS Sonoma will take over from Ventura by putting widgets on the desktop and preparing to run games like Death Stranding on the Mac.
- watchOS 10 cleans up our Apple Watch with a new widget-based interface that improves on the classic “hive” of icons.
- tvOS 17 is featured on our Apple TV bringing the Control Center to our TVs.
- visionOS will be the operating system of the Vision Pro and introduces the concept of “spatial computing”. Developers will have to get on with it, as it presents the beginning of a new era.
