Paradox Interactive provides an update Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 After years of silence.
According to the developer, the lack of communication about the state of the game is due to the team “hard work on the game”.
“We’re as committed as ever to delivering a great Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines game and look forward to showing you even more this September,” the company said.
As development continues, Paradox will update the game’s edition and bonus content as it looks to offer the “best value” to those who back the game via digital pre-orders.
Paradox went on to acknowledge that many people pre-ordered the game a long time ago, so it’s voluntarily refunding all pre-orders for any physical editions. Digital versions of the First Blood Edition, Unsanctioned Edition, and Blood Moon Edition are still available, but refunds are available if you wish.
To keep those of you looking forward to the game in check, and to keep you waiting until September when more content is revealed, Paradox has released a new batch of screenshots, which you can see below.
Bloodlines 2, which was announced in 2019, lost its narrative lead and creative director during development, was delayed twice, and all content from its narrative designer Chris Avellone was removed following sexual harassment allegations against him. [As an aside, various accounts state the accusations were not investigated, and after filing a seven-figure lawsuit against his accusers, the case was settled, and the accusers issued a joint statement retracting their claims, clearing Avellone of wrongdoing, and stating the “original claims were misinterpreted.”]
Regardless, it’s good to see the game is still in development, and hopefully it won’t be a long way off.
