If you recently downloaded something from Google’s Play Store, you could be one of 30 million users who have been foisted on one of 193 fake apps. With this enormous number, Android.Spy.SpinOk malware is being proliferated, which was only recently detected in over 100 programs.
After installation, the malware searches your smartphone for personal information and sensitive data and sends it to a server. The criminals behind the cyber attack then sell your data on the dark web or misuse it in other ways, such as the portal PhoneArena reported. Some of the apps are also offered in the Google Play Store.

Among the affected apps are a particularly large number of mini-games and games of chance that promise quick money. But VPN programs are also included. So that you know which applications you need to uninstall immediately, we list the most downloaded titles below.

Malware also keeps sneaking into official providers such as the Google Play Store. You should therefore check the desired program carefully before downloading it. Take a good look at the reviews, the manufacturer and the required permissions. The additional protection with an antivirus program for your Android cell phone is also recommended.
