We have already told you about Project KILN, a new “mysterious” game that we had not identified. And I quote it because we didn’t know anything until today. From here all you will read are spoilersso if you don’t want to know anything, leave the entrance and wait for the Xbox Games Showcase to be able to experience it with better quality and under better circumstances.
Now that I’ve given you heads up, let’s continue with what we know about this new game. For starters, it’s developed by Double Fine, something I didn’t know at least. It looks like a kind of adventure game that mixes platform and action / exploration à la Minecraft Dungeons.
Its original name was going to be Amnesia Fortnight.
The game has seen a leaked clip which appears to be airing at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 i.e. it looks like a prepared gameplay where we can see how someone is playing it. Seems pretty advanced to tell the truth, at least for the state it is in. Although yes, that does not mean that we will see it soon.
Before we continue, I’ll give you the initial concept for what the game would be, which was to be called Amnesia Fortnight, and Double Fine has released some pretty promising concept art. Thanks to this, we can see how the original idea was going to be:
Kiln is a team-based multiplayer fighting game focused on creating unique player-sculpted characters with crazy physics-based animation and destruction. In Kiln, you play as a Mountain Spirit, supernatural beings always at war at the top. You’ll use an ancient potter’s wheel to create warrior golems called Vessels, inhabiting them and allowing you to interact with the physical realm to fight battles. Created in-game, characters of various shapes and sizes can be created, each with unique attributes and controls that leverage the power of procedural animation. Collect resources to build bigger and better equipped ships, advance into enemy territory and enjoy destroying handmade pottery with the kiln.

Like I said, someone got access to the game, and I can’t figure out who’s streaming it, because the quality is pretty bad, and Twitter is already applying the compression as well. But if you want, you can see it for yourself here:
