Exoprimal roadmap and battle pass revealed

Battle, Exoprimal, Pass, revealed, Roadmap

Exoprimal got some love during last night’s Capcom Showcase livestream, as the world got another trailer and a ton of Battle Pass and pre-order rewards.

game, released on July 14 This year marks Capcom’s next big venture into field service. While those eager for the new Dinosaur Crisis were initially frustrated, after an open beta period and continued marketing, the game has built its own excited dinosaur hunter community.

You can check out the new trailer for Exo Primal here.

Let’s break down these bonuses. For players who pre-order Exoprimal, they will receive three skins for the Witch Doctor, Sharpshooter, and Barricade sets. A simple but fairly classic package for early adopters, especially compared to other games that were loved during the non-E3 season, like Forza and its five-day early access.

Then you get the Exoprimal Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game, Head Start Kit, and the premium Season 1 Battle Pass. The Head Start Kit gives you the shells for the Vigilant, Murasame and Nimbus sets. It also gives you some early unlock tickets, giving you quick access to more skins when the game first launches.

As it turns out, that battle pass has plenty of rewards for premium owners. The Premium Pass will give you:

  • 19 set skins
  • 10 weapon skins
  • 3 decals
  • 4 emoticons
  • 2 postage stamps
  • 10 Player Mark Badges
  • player label background

Owners of the free battle pass can still look forward to some nice prizes, but it’s clear from the trailer that the vast majority of the stuff is thrown at those who spend a little cash. That’s how field service works!

Whether Exoprimal will succeed remains uncertain. On the one hand, we’re in a period of live-service burnout, with a lot of people jumping into new multiplayer games years ago with a lack of enthusiasm for big-time sinks. Not to mention, the base game will set you back £50 or the equivalent in your region, despite being a traditional free-to-play model for future content.

However, with the microtransaction model, Exoprimal doesn’t have to attract a large audience to stay afloat. In the long run, a smaller community buying a pass might be enough to keep the game going. Also, while this is a very basic and simple point, it has a unique vibe compared to multiplayer co-op shooters these days. Maybe that’s enough to tick the boxes at Capcom HQ. Plus it’s on Game Pass!
