Mortal Kombat 1 is still a few weeks away from release, but NetherRealm wants to make sure everything runs smoothly. Therefore, a first stress test for the servers of the ultra-brutal beating game will take place in June. Another stress test should give the developers a leak that reveals the entire line-up.
Few things are more annoying than a release that doesn’t run smoothly. In the past, some players angered the fans because the servers just couldn’t handle the onslaught of the crowds. NetherRealm seems to have learned from past mistakes and wants to make sure Mortal Kombat 1 runs smoothly.

To this end, there will be a series of online stress tests. The first test run will take place later this month, as the developers have now announced. Strictly speaking, it starts as early as next week, from Friday, June 23, 2023 to Sunday, June 25, 2023, the chosen ones can start beating. You will be informed by email on June 21, 2023 whether you have been chosen. If you haven’t applied yet, you can still do so on the official home page again.
NetherRealm is important to emphasize that this is not a beta. The developer says: “The purpose is to intentionally stress our online infrastructure and identify potential issues before launching the game. The test also has nothing to do with the Mortal Kombat 1 pre-order beta scheduled for August 2023 was announced.”
Mortal Kombat 1 will finally be released on September 19, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. It is not yet known which fighters will be represented.
