Among all the novelties presented at WWDC, one of the most anticipated was the Mac Pro, which is Apple’s most powerful computer. Your crown jewel. Of course, this does not mean that it will automatically be free from bugs, problems and configuration or security flaws. It’s still a technological deviceAnd it’s normal for these things to happen.
The important thing in these cases is that Apple is able to quickly detect what is happening and act to resolve it as soon as possible. After all, it’s true that this Mac is aimed at professionals, and for many of them—if not all— it is essential not to have problems when he uses what is essentially his main working tool.
help is on the way
Apple has now communicated in a support document that certain SATA hard drives could be disconnected on the new Mac Pro while in sleep mode. The company itself has already stated that it is aware of this situation and is working on a macOS update to resolve it.
While it’s true that the Mac Pro’s storage is configured with SSD-type hard drives, there are other internal ones that use SATA ports, and therein lies the problem. It seems that the moment the computer comes out of this sleep mode, some of these ports are disconnected, and the only way to fix it is to restart the device.
If you have this Mac Pro and want to avoid this situation until Apple releases an update to fix it, all you can do is open System Settings, go to Displays, Advanced and enable the option “Prevent Mac from automatically going to sleep when the screen is off”. It’s temporary, but until Cupertino solves it, it’s the only thing we can do.
