final fantasy 16 There will be a new Game+ mode called “Final Fantasy Mode,” which increases the difficulty while adding some content.
We’re only a few days away from the release of Final Fantasy 16, so of course Square Enix Another pre-release stream was held ahead of the launch. One notable reveal in the stream is that once you’ve beaten the game, you’ll have access to “Final Fantasy Mode” as part of the New Game+ game. There are a few changes to this mode, mostly related to difficulty: enemies are now stronger, but your level cap can now go up to 100. Besides that, you can also craft ultimate weapons to increase your power.
You don’t start from scratch in this mode, though, as “character properties, abilities, and level progression are carried over from your previous game,” which is pretty standard for most New Game+ modes . Beyond that, beating the game in Final Fantasy mode will earn you a gold trophy, for any trophy hunter out there looking for a challenge.
You’ll also find that the Arete Stone challenges you can try in-game will have Ultimania difficulty in New Game+, as well as a difficult time attack mode called “Chronolith Trials.”
The stream also has some additional information, such as some planned post-launch update features. For those who want smooth gameplay, we plan to improve frame rate performance, while providing the option to fully adjust or turn off motion blur (thanks to Noisy Pixel). The ability to adjust camera movement speed is also planned, and the team is also considering adding more button binding options.
Be careful as we get closer to the game’s release, though, as spoilers seem to have started appearing online.
