That we can repair our smartphones and other devices with official tools This is something that, while not for everyone (especially the less cunning ones), is becoming more and more common. More taking into account the European regulations concerning the ‘Right to repair’. Among the big companies, Apple announced a self-repair program in 2021 and that ended up arriving in Europe a few months ago. Samsung has also done the same, although until now we didn’t have it here.
The Korean manufacturer announced this program for the United States initially and now confirms the arrival in European countries such as Europe
At the moment only a few recent Galaxy ‘S’, soon more
it doesn’t change much new Samsung repair program in Europe compared to what we already saw in the United States more than a year ago. In th is case, they have teamed up with ASWO and 2Service, two companies specializing in the distribution of parts at European level.
The idea is very simple to understand: the user requests a repair and, upon payment, will receive a specific repair kit at his home. Of course, not for any Samsung device. At the moment, they are limited to computers like the first generation of Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360. And referring to phones that support these repairs we find some of its latest top of the range (but not the most recent):
What is offered for these are instructions and parts that allow replace screen, back glass, battery, power buttons and/or charging port
Obviously, this is a number of devices that still seems short for the entire catalog of Samsung mobiles that exists. However, the company indicates in its statement that it intends to expand your program to add more devices in the future. In fact, they openly throw away the promise.
At the moment, the prices that these kits will have are not provided, as well as a guide on how to request them. However, they indicate that all information accessible to the user will be on their website.
