While Diablo 4 is polished, it’s still missing a number of important legacy features. Some of these are pretty basic, like the lack of social and landfill gas systems, while others lean more towards the quality of life area.
If you’ve spent enough time with Diablo IV, you’re probably well aware of the game’s limited storage space, ambiguous sorting system, and worst of all – the way the game handles things.
Aspects are affixes on legendary gear (not to be confused with dungeon aspects). You can extract the ones you like, and save them for more powerful/better gear. But like gear itself, Aspects come in different tiers and drop different ranges of stats.
In other words, you can have multiple versions of the same aspect in storage, and you have to decide which ones need to be destroyed and which ones to keep. To further complicate matters, certain aspects can be attached to weapons, while others can only be equipped on equipment.
But you won’t know this just by looking at your storage, as you’ll need to read the descriptions of each one carefully to see how many extra sides you have, and discard the lowest. This is by far my biggest annoyance with the game, and I’m not alone.
Reddit user Lazypole shared their disappointment with how the game handled it. This is especially annoying once you get into the habit of running Nightmare stuff because as they say, the process of running back to town after each run to make sure you don’t forget to remove the Legendary Aspect you have is tedious and boring .
“At first I thought it was great, but honestly, it was killing the game for me,” they explained. “When you get gear upgrades, you have to juggle and remember what aspects of your stockpile you have, and filter them one by one, because they all look the same.”
“Having to say ‘sorry guys, give me a minute’ every time I run across town after a nightmare run because I get an aspect that I need to rip off and put away in case I forget/lose it ,” they added.
