When the long-storied new edition of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater was announced, the comeback of earlier parts was also confirmed as part of the Master Collection Volume 1. This is now also making the leap to Nintendo’s Switch.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which was also confirmed with the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Delta, will also be available for Nintendo Switch. This in turn was confirmed today at the Direct conference. This collection now also has a release date.
The Master Collection Vol. 1 should be available from October 24, 2023 – then in addition to the PlayStation and the Xbox also for the switch. This includes the classics Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Also included as a bonus are the two games that started it all: Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.
Another surprise in today’s announcement: The Collection includes the NES version of Metal Gear as well as Snake’s Revenge. On the Switch you will also be able to purchase the three Metal Gear Solid classics separately.
Far away from the game material, there are finally a few goodies: screenplay books, master books and strategy guides are on board in digital form, as is the digital soundtrack, which can be accessed directly from the menu. Konami also packs parts of the digital graphic novels into the package.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be released on October 24th for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch.
