Among the many wearable brands available in Europe, Amazfit is one of the most recommended for its watches and activity bracelets. Models like the Amazfit GTS 4 or GTR 4 show that you don’t have to pay so much for an Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch to have a great experience, even on Android.
But these watches have one thing in common: they are designed for everyday use, and have quality finishes and good design. In short, they are “dress” watches, and although they have advanced functions to collect data on our exercises and on our body, they are not really designed primarily for this.
Amazfit has covered that niche today, with the new Cheetah range consisting of two watches designed specifically for users for whom make exercise your top priority; Although in terms of “hardware” they are similar to the GTR 4, they have a different, more “robust” design and exercise assistance functions.
AI clock
The two new models are the Amazfit Cheetah and the Cheetah Pro; They share many features, although the Pro model is undoubtedly the most advanced and complete. The Amazfit Cheetah Pro is based on a 1.45-inch AMOLED display which can be always on, with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels; The maximum brightness of 1000 nits promises that the screen will be readable even in direct sunlight.
The edges are in titanium alloy, both to obtain a quality finish and to withstand possible blows; this is the same reason Gorilla Glass 3 is used on the screen. The body of the watch, meanwhile, is made of a fiber-reinforced polymer that allows for a reduced weight of just 32 grams. The device comes with a sweat-resistant nylon strap.
Like the other Amazfit models, it is possible to control the device with the touch screen and with the two buttons, including a crown; and in the same way, it is also based on the operating system Zepp OS, compatible with Android. The big difference lies in the use of the Zepp Coach, a Coach function with Artificial Intelligence, able to impose exercise plans according to our objectives; every week it will adjust the exercises according to our condition and performance, and it will show summaries that can help to understand the progress we are making. Other features allow the AI to be used to impose a rhythm during races, by adjusting the objectives. The watch will even have its own ‘chatbot’ like ChatGPT, although it will be limited unless we pay a subscription, which has not yet been confirmed for Europe.
Another very striking feature is the Dual band GPS, which allows to obtain a great precision in the recording of the exercises, being able to obtain a coverage of almost 100% of the satellites. It also allows you to exercise without having to take your mobile phone with you. For the rest, it has the classic functions, such as a sensor to measure heart rate, oxygen level and stress.
The Amazfit Cheetah Pro will be available at a price of 299.90 dollars.
The Amazfit for runners
For its part, the basic version of the Amazfit Cheetah comes in two versions, a circle and a square. They’re touted as more practical versions of the Amazfit watches, and while they’re not as advanced as the Pro model, they retain most of their functionality. The biggest differences are in design, materials and size.
The round Amazfit Cheetah is something smaller, with a 1.39-inch screen, although the brightness remains at 1000 nits. The edges are made of the same reinforced polymer as the rest of the case, which means the weight is also 32 grams despite being smaller. The included bracelet is made of silicone. On the other hand, very little is known about the square model, apart from the fact that it will be launched, so we will have to wait for more details. What seems obvious is that these versions will lose functions, since they do not have speakers or microphone, so they do not support Bluetooth calls.
The basic Amazfit Cheetah is already on Amazon with a price of 229.90 dollars, although the square version has not yet reached the stores.
