In October, three classics from the Metal Gear Solid series will be released for current platforms as part of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 – and the naming already suggests that there will also be a second collection. A leak now brings the titles into play that should then be included.
The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 has not yet been confirmed – after all, Volume 1 is planned for October of this year. Nevertheless, there is now a larger leak that brings the concrete contents of a second Metal Gear collection into play.
If you believe this leak, Volume 2 will again have three titles from the long-standing stealth action series on board. These are said to be Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Guns of the Patriots was a PlayStation 3 exclusive as the fourth installment in the series, while Peace Walker was a PlayStation Portable spin-off. The Phantom Pain, on the other hand, was the last major part of the series that Konami now wants to gradually bring back. Shortly after the leak, the usually very well-informed, English-speaking colleagues from IGN to speak and emphasized that according to their understanding the leaked information was “accurate”.
First of all, however, Volume 1 of the game collection with the first three parts of the series will be released on October 24, 2023 – as we have recently learned: also for the switch. In addition, with Metal Gear Solid Delta, a complete remake of the third part Snake Eater for modern platforms is in the works.
