Earlier this month, it coincided with the fifth anniversary of the release of “The Elder Scrolls 6”. Totilo also noted that Spencer seemed “vague about whether he had previously made a public statement that the game was Xbox-only.”
Spencer also seemed to hint that The Elder Scrolls 6 might be released on the next-gen Xbox – According to Totilo“Spencer said he didn’t even know which Microsoft platforms it would run on”, which clearly indicated that he didn’t believe it would only run on the Xbox Serie X/S. As part of some court documents released, Microsoft did The next generation of consoles is expected to hit the market around 2028, he said.
Honestly, considering how little we know about the game so far, it’s not surprising that the game is still far off. This obviously raises the question of why the game was announced so early, and the most likely answer is that Bethesda, in a safe way, says it’s developing the game and will be hiring for it. Bethesda also said that 2020 will be years before we get any real word on the game.
There are several major hurdles to overcome for Microsoft to complete its Activision Blizzard acquisition, one being a trial by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and another by the U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority, which has now ruled to block the merger. Although Microsoft has appealed against the CMA’s ban, the appeal is scheduled to be heard in July.
