Bayard Rustin was an American civil rights activist who was instrumental in organizing the March on Washington in 1963. He was considered a close advisor to Martin Luther King Jr. and championed racial equality, human rights and global democracy. However, when he revealed his homosexuality, he was confronted with far-reaching consequences.

Colman Domingo (“Fear the Walking Dead”) will play the lead role of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin. Also alongside him are Aml Ameen (“Sense8”) as Martin Luther King, Chris Rock (“Fargo”) as Roy Wilkins, Glynn Turman (“House of Lies”) as A. Philip Randolph, and Audra McDonald (“Private Practice”) as Ella Baker in front of the camera.
Also starring are Gus Halper, Johnny Ramey, Michael Potts, Carra Patterson, Adrienne Warren, Bill Irwin (“Legion”), Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Jeffrey Wright (“Westworld”), Lilli Kay, Jordan-Amanda Hall , Jakeem Dante Powell and Ayana Workman.
