Nintendo is once again proving itself as a master of optimization on the Switch, if the estimated file size for Super Mario Bros. Wonder something else.
As reported by people via at Nintendo Everythingthe official eShop currently lists the upcoming platformer at a pretty reasonable price 4.3 GB (quick note: the US eShop lists the game at 4.5 GBso we assume that the correct figure is somewhere between those two). This is of course subject to change in the coming months, but it sounds like you probably won’t need to organize a mass emptying of your SD card anytime soon.
In comparison, New Super Mario Bros. In Deluxe came on 2.5 GB at launch, so we can probably expect Wonder to be a much more feature-packed title that will boast vastly improved visuals. Interestingly, Wonder is also quite a bit bigger than Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, which only required 2.9 GB download.
But that’s not the only file size that was discovered. Here are a few more from the latest Nintendo Direct to consider as you weigh your purchases for the rest of the year:
Super Mario RPG – 8.0GB
Detective Pikachu Returns – 10.0 GB
Star Ocean: Another Story R – 13.7 GB
WarioWare: Move! – 1.5 GB
Manic Mechanics – 1.4 GB
The relatively small file size from Nintendo is a notable difference from Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which will require players to download nearly 60GB worth of content for all games and bonus videos. Force!
