Curiosity Vendors are the less frequented vendors in Diablo IV, mostly because a lot of the stuff they sell isn’t important to most players within a few hours of the game. Vendors only accept one currency: Obols, which are rewarded from chests that pop up after event completion.
Much of your early access to vendors is spent buying Whisper Keys, which unlock chests of silence you might come across in your open world travels.
Later on, however, you’ll find yourself unable to handle certain challenges, especially if you’re entering new areas without upgrading your gear/getting level-appropriate drops. This is where Obol Gambling comes in. With the same currency, you can roll the dice and choose whatever gear or weapon is provided to see what drops.
Most of the time, you’ll get crap, but I’ve occasionally gotten a weird legend or two. This is exactly why Obol gambling becomes more important the deeper it plays into the game. See, legendary (and higher) drops come with aspects – unique modifiers you can extract to use on other gear.
If you dig into Diablo 4’s endgame, you might miss some aspects you’re still looking for, or perfect aspects you already have. This is when Ombre Gambling becomes a source of drops, especially since you can target specific gear/weapons.
The trick, of course, is figuring out which sides fall on which cog slots, and how likely you are to get them from one side versus the other. That’s where the Obol gambling tool comes in (via Icy Veins).
It’s one of several useful tools on Diablo4life, a resource for building ideas, mechanical breakdowns, event trackers, world boss timers, and more. This gambling tool is very simple to use. Simply select your category, facet type, and you’ll see all facets that match your filter options – along with their drop chances.
If you know the aspect you’re looking for, you can just type in its name. If you want some build ideas for Diablo 4, follow the link. You can also find many other helpful guides in our main guide hub.
