10 things we wish we had known before starting The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

If you want to know more about Link’s adventure, go to our Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough.

How to start the Tulin of Rito Village quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To start the Rito Village Tulin quest, you need to find and enter Rito Village. We highly recommend increasing your cold resistance through meals or armor pieces like the Frostbite Shirt, as you will need them throughout this story quest.

Once you have found your way around Rito Village, keep exploring the village and follow the path uphill until you reach these coordinates (-3601, 1802, 0212). Here you should see Tulin debating with his father, Teba.

Approach them to trigger a cutscene. Follow the cutscene throughout and continue talking to Teba. Eventually Teba will ask you to find Harth and talk to them as they might have more information about Princess Zelda.

How to find Harth in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To find Harth in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you need to head to a cabin directly north of Rito Village.

The cabin itself is called Hebra Trailhead Lodge, which is directly east of Rospro Pass Skyview Tower and, as we said, north of Rito Village at these coordinates (-3584, 2251, 0140.)

The easiest way to get here is to stand on the edge of the platform where you talked to Teba and look straight ahead until you see two lights flicker slightly in the distance. These two lights mark the exact location of the cabin.

Use your crosshair to place a pin roughly near the two lights, then use your paraglider to start gliding towards it. However, if you’re low on stamina, we recommend heading to the Rospro Pass Skyview tower and heading east from there.

When you find the cabin, head inside and talk to Harth who is standing near the table to the left.

After you finish talking with them, you will be given a new task: find Tulin.

How to find Tulin in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To find Tulin, head north from the Hebra Trailhead Lodge where you spoke to Harth and you should meet another Rito called Cecili at (-3514, 2400, 0210).

link zelda totk talk to cecili

Talk to them and they’ll point you in the direction of the South Hebra Summit Cave – where Tulin and a few other Ritos are looking for resources. Cecili will also let you know that a bonfire marks the entrance to the cave – a useful thing to look for if you get a bit lost!

Climb the slope indicated by Cecili (facing Cecili then heading east).

Keep going up the slope and you’ll encounter Ice Keese, Bokoblins, and Ice Chu Chu. You can avoid them by simply running past them, but we recommend taking them out as they will all drop useful items for later.

Once you’ve dealt with the enemies, keep going up the slope. If you find you’re a bit lost on which direction to take, then confront the Skull Torch stuck in the snow near where you fought the Bokoblins. Then, facing the Torch, climb the long slope on your left to resume your journey.

Keep going up the incline and you’ll eventually come to a flag at (-3361, 2468, 0300.)

Once you reach this flag follow the path to the left and you will soon see the bonfire at the mouth of the Hebra South Summit cave on your right at (-3394, 2491, 0314.)

Enter the cave and talk to Laissa who will inform you that Tulin is deeper in the cave with another Rito called Gesane.

Go further into the cave following the path laid out for you by the endless rows of thorns. Eventually you will come to a large opening in the cave with a strong updraft flowing through it.

Use your paraglider to ascend the updraft and, in the air, look north and you should see an opening in the cave wall at (-3331, 2562, 0349.)

Head here and follow the path around and past some glowing rock deposits. You’ll also encounter a Horriblin here – you can handle them or just outrun them, it’s your choice.

Follow the path through where the Horriblin is/was and you’ll come to a large opening where an unlit fire is surrounded by water.

Break the barrels next to the fire to get Hylian Pinecones, then throw a Hylian Pinecone on the unlit fire with flint and hit the flint with anything metal (like a sword) to start the fire.

Using the Hylian Pinecone will cause the fire to create a strong updraft. Soar into this updraft using your paraglider and, in the air, gaze east. You should see another opening in the cave wall.

Enter here and follow the path through the cave until you seemingly come to a dead end. Some Stone Pebblits will attack you here, but you can just hit them with a hammer to make them disappear.

When you are in this dead end area, look up and east again. You should see another opening at the top of the wall, but you can easily climb through it regardless of your stamina wheel level.

Once through the opening, follow the path again through the cave until you find Gesane at (-3245, 2589, 0432.)

Talk to Gesane to learn that Tulin is no longer in the cave. Gesane will then show you the direction to exit the cave – follow their instructions and once you are outside the cave open your map and pin this point on the map below:

Head north to Talonto Peak and at the very top of Tolanto Peak you will find a single lone cedar tree. When you get to the tree, look east and you’ll find Tulin at (-3147, 2703, 0568.)

How to get the Tulin Bow in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Talk to Tulin and you will find that one of the flying monsters (Aerocuda) has taken his precious bow. You must collect it before you can progress further.

Head to the quest marker on your map to stand under the area the Aerocuda is spinning in (-3047, 2742, 0504). Now, there are probably multiple ways to do this, but here’s how we got the Tulin bow.

zelda totk talonto peak enemy lair

Stand here between the two lit torches and observe the flight path of the Aerocuda. Then draw your bow and attach a Keese Eyeball to an arrow (this improves its accuracy and almost guarantees you’ll hit the target – you can use a Keese Wing if you need to, but you’ll need to be more precise with your aim if you do it).

If you need arrows, the boxes and barrels in this platform contain a few that you can pick up and use.

Aim the Aerocuda and release the arrow. If Keese’s eyeball is attached to it, you’ll definitely hit the Aerocuda, causing it to drop the Tulin Bow!

Follow the cutscene and get ready to fight. Two Bokoblins and a Blue Bokoblin will drop near you – deal with them as you wish, but you cannot run away from this fight.

After defeating the trio of Bokoblins, watch the cutscene that follows and get ready to fly!

How to complete the Tulin of Rito Village quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

After talking to Harth, your next job will be to investigate the cloud and to do this you will need to know how to reach the temple of the wind.

zelda totk link and tulin talk to harth

Once you achieve this, you must complete the Temple of the Wind and beat the temple boss at the end to stop the blizzard that is covering the Rito once and for all!

Once you stop the blizzard, you will have completed the Tulin of Rito Village main story quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Congratulations!
