Not only is this cheeky-looking Pokémon a real cutie, but its regular version, Sableye, is extremely powerful in Go Battle League.

Like all Mega Evolutions, Mega Sableye cannot be caught directly in Pokémon Go. Instead, you must keep defeating it in Mega Raids until you have collected enough Mega Sableye Energy for its temporary evolution. . Thanks to the rebalancing of the Summer 2022 Mega Raid, this can now be done in a single Mega Raid if you beat it fast enough!

Below you will find Cons and Weaknesses of Mega Sableye to help you succeed in Pokémon Go – remember that you must have a Sableye in your Pokémon storage to perform its Mega Evolution.

Mega Sableye counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go

The fastest way to collect Mega Sableye Energy is to defeat one in a Mega Raid. Below are Mega Sableye’s counters and weaknesses to help you achieve this:

  • Types of Mega Sableye – Dark and Ghost
  • Mega Sableye is weak against – Fairy
  • Mega Sableye is resistant to – Normal, Psychic, Combat and Poison
  • Mega Sableye Mega Counters – Mega Gardevoir as a Fairy type is the obvious way to go. Beyond that, Mega Gengar hits hard, but is weak to Ghost-types in a way that Mega Sableye is not. Mega Charizard Y, with its high damage, is a good call, as are Mega Swampert and Mega Salamence. Mega Banette is also an option if she has Dazzling Gleam, but as a Ghost-type she is also weak to Ghosts.
  • Non-Mega Sableye Mega Counters – Fairy is vital here if you want to have a good time in your hands. Zacian with Play Rough, Xurkitree with Dazzling Gleam then Togekiss with double Fairy are your best bets. Tapu Bulu and Gholdengo (if you have one) are good reinforcements, as is a Sylveon army.

  • Mega Gardevoir, Zacian, and Xurkitree are your top three counters
  • Number of players to beat Mega Sableye – Mega Sableye is extremely defensive, so you really shouldn’t expect to play this one alone unless you’re the best in Pokemon Go. Aim for a team of at least four players at level 40 who bring the right Pokemon in combat !
  • Tactical – Fairy is Mega Sableye’s only weakness, so start with Mega Gardevoir and then fall back to your strongest Pokemon with Fairy-type attacks. If it’s a Fairy-type that gets STAB using these attacks, that’s even better, but don’t discount the likes of Xurkitree who has a decent Fairy-type attack!

Best Mega Sableye Moveset in Pokémon Go

Mega Sableye occupies a very strange part of Pokémon Go. Purified Sableye is excellent in the Great League of Go Battle League and is one of a very limited number of Pokémon that can get away with performing the Return move. But Sableye’s high defense doesn’t mean much to a Mega Pokemon that isn’t eligible for Go Battle League.

Mega Sableye.

Thanks to its low attack and low overall stats, Mega Sableye has two uses in Pokémon Go: filling a Pokédex slot and, if you really need it, pumping up the rest of the team during a raid that uses a lot of Dark. or Ghost. -type counters, where you want the Mega to stay longer than Mega Gengar or the next Mega Tyranitar. However, since raids are simply exercises in button mashing and dodging is almost never advised, this tactic seems like an exercise in futility.

So when all is said and done, Mega Sableye is pretty much useless in Pokémon Go.

But if you’re a mega fan of this mega cute Pokemon – and why wouldn’t you be, look at that smile – and want to give it a spin, you’ll be pleased to know that it can use a variety of Quick Moves. and loaded into Pokémon Go. Mega Sableye’s best moves would be the combination of Feint Attack (Fast) & Foul Play (Loaded) in raids as a dark type attacker.

Here are the quick and charged moves that Mega Sableye can use in Pokémon Go:

Quick movements:

  • Feint Attack (Dark)
  • Shadow Claw (Ghost)

Charged shots:

  • Foul play (dark)
  • Powerful gem (rock)
  • Shadow Sneak (Ghost)

Everything we know about Sableye

The Darkness Pokémon, Sableye, dates back to the Hoenn region in Gen 3. Interestingly, it’s one of only two Dark/Ghost type Pokémon, along with Spiritomb. None of these Pokémon have an evolution in their species line.

Other than her Mega Evolution, Sableye has no known evolutions. (Image via pokemongolive.com)

This cool little Pokémon is said to have been inspired by the Goblin of Hopkinsville, from the US state of Kentucky – a UFO encounter reported in 1955. More trivia for you, the same generation Pokémon Deoxys DNA is an alien encounter in main series games!

Although he may have been inspired by the above, Sableye canonically lives underground. You can read the official Pokédex entries for these Pokémon below:

  • Sableye: ‘He dwells in the darkness of caves. It uses its sharp claws to dig up gems for food.
  • Mega Sableye: ‘Bathed in the energy of Mega Evolution, the gemstone on his chest expands, tearing his skin and falling off.

Well, that looks violent…

For those looking for a shiny, you’ll be happy to know that the shiny Sableye was released at the start of the Halloween 2017 event. So Mega Sableye is also in the game!

Shiny Sableye trades her purple for gold and her red gem for green. We can’t wait to add such a cool Mega Shiny to our Mega Pokédex!
