In Season 6, the long-promised PvE feature of Overwatch 2 starts, albeit in a slimmed-down form. The next sobering follows at the same time: Further missions after the first swing will probably not follow this year.
In August, fans of Overwatch 2 should finally get their hands on the long-promised first PvE missions. The feature was known to have been slimmed down, which has already caused plenty of criticism of Blizzard Entertainment. The developer studio nevertheless promised comprehensive PvE content as a result, but this is apparently a long time coming after the starting signal.
In the current year 2023, it will apparently only remain with the first PvE missions, which will appear in August; this information now comes directly from Executive Producer Jared Neuss. Accordingly, fans not only have to do without the previously promised hero mode and skill trees, but further PvE missions are only planned for 2024.
Jared Neuss recently commented on the subject in an interview. Accordingly, no further PvE missions are expected for seasons 7 and 8. Since experience has shown that a season in Overwatch 2 lasts a few months and Season 6 does not start until August 15th, new PvE missions are not expected until around March 2024, when Season 9 is expected to begin.
The longer wait is also for a specific reason: Blizzard Entertainment wants the opportunity to evaluate community feedback on the first three Invasion missions and the bonus London mission when that content launches. For further PvE content, one would then like to respond to any criticism and take it into account.
