There are still several months before the official launch of the Pixel 8, but as usual in the sector, many leaks have already been published detailing what the new mobile from Google will look like. But today’s one is perhaps the most important, to the point that Google seems to have already taken action on it and is trying to remove it from the internet (with little success).
And it is that, in one way or another, some photos of a prototype of the Pixel 8 Pro they ended up being published on the Internet; and although they have already been deleted from their original publication, many outlets have made their own copies and are publishing them. Whatever secret Google wanted to keep, it failed.
The images were first posted on Reddit, but to date have been deleted, and the account of the user who uploaded them has been deleted. It’s understandable, because whoever took the photos and shared them broke a confidentiality agreement with Google and will likely face serious legal repercussions. According to the original post, the Reddit user said that he got the mobile directly from the Google team to test it, so it should be a device very close to the final version, created to test in real scenarios and verify the effectiveness of the changes.

The Pixel 8 is expected to represent a significant leap in “hardware” over current models. The Pixel 7 was just an evolution of the Pixel 6, and that will change with the next generation. The new Pixel 8 processor will be a “monster” that should put it on par with the chips used by the competition, for example. In addition to hardware improvements, changes will also be made to the “software”. It is expected that the Pixel 8 can be used as a computer, thanks to a new interface that will appear when connecting the mobile to a monitor.
The leaked prototype shows a screen with technical information, such as the 12 GB of RAM memory LPDDR5 made by Samsung and 128GB UFS storage from Hynix; but other than that, it doesn’t show processor details or other things like cameras.

What can be seen with the naked eye is one of the great novelties of the Pixel 8: temperature sensor. The new Google mobile will be able to take the temperature of the user’s skin, with a process that consists of pointing the back of the mobile towards our forehead and performing a sideways movement so that the sensor can cover the entire forehead. The sensor is evident in the images, it’s just below the flash. The camera lenses seem larger and the hole takes up more space on the rear bar.
A detail that is not seen, but has already been leaked, is in the new battery, larger and with faster charging. According to the leak, the Pixel 8 will have a maximum charge of 23W, which doesn’t seem like a lot compared to other rivals in the same price range, which already exceed 100W; but it is, compared to other Pixel phones. Battery capacity will increase by 200mAh, remaining at 4485mAh in the base Pixel 8, and 4926mAh in the Pro model.
