During its 44th general meeting of shareholders, Capcom has spoken about the future of the franchise. Shareholders inquired about the next steps for the series and the possibility of ports and collections.
Capcom responded that this series, including the latest installment, Megaman 11, is one of its historical intellectual properties and much loved by fans. The company is considering “how to develop new installments in the series,” which includes developing a strong concept, ideas, and gameplay.
He also states that they are considering how to port older titles, including resolving technical issues. The answer, while vague, offers hope for the future of the franchise. It’s nice to know they’re working on it!
