Blizzard is gearing up for the official reveal of Diablo 4’s first season, and the developer has released a very brief trailer about the new season’s theme. We got a tweet with a short video showing some kind of black goo sweeping the shelter.
Obviously, this is “corruption” and the threat to the world in Diablo 4 season one, but that’s just the extent of the information Blizzard has provided. That’s okay though, because later today, we’ll be doing a lengthy livestream revealing the theme and start date of Diablo 4’s first season.
Corruption is spreading.

It will be very interesting if the threat ends up being zombies, as Blizzard uses this as an example of how seasonal themes will determine what players get in them. However, the developers emphasized that only For example, this makes things more interesting.
It’s hard to speculate at this stage, as we have very little information, but the post-credits scene (which only some players seem to see) may offer hints about a potential villain for the new season. Blizzard says each season will introduce new narrative content, so expect it to be more than just cosmetic rewards.
Still, today’s show will be a big moment for the studio, as it’s the first season of Diablo 4, and it’s a departure from the way the developer has produced seasons for Diablo games in the past.
We’ll find out today at: 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST, when the broadcast starts. Diablo 4’s content will technically be released later, as it’s also shared with Diablo Immortal.
