The mayoral election is a secondary quest composed of several small quests in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. All is not well in the village of Hateno, current mayor Reede and popular designer Cece clashed, which led to them fighting to be elected mayor of Hateno (or in Reede’s case, to remain mayor ).

Everything involved with this questline in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom requires you to stay in Hateno Village. It may be a welcome break from all the Moblins, Horriblins, Lizalfos, and general mayhem going on elsewhere in Hyrule. On the other hand, Link is going to be forced to spy on people, get their secrets, and bribe potential followers.

How to start mayoral election quests in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To start the Mayoral Election quests in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you need to go to Hateno Village. Hateno Village is south of Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower, northeast of Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower, and between Mount Lanayru and East Necluda.

We have marked its exact location on the map below and the the coordinates of the village of Hateno are (3366, -2147, 0119).

Once in Hateno Village, you need to start and complete the Team Cece or Team Reede quest. This quest is the beginning of the Mayoral Election questline in Hateno Village.

How to complete the mayoral election quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To complete the mayoral election quest, you need to complete several smaller quests that revolve around the candidates, Reede, and Cece before the election can take place. They can be done in any order, but you must complete the Team Cece or Team Reede quest first.

Now we did Cece’s Secret last and to trigger the election we had to talk to Sophie outside Cece’s shop.

When the election begins, just watch the event unfold and eventually you’ll have to talk to Cece again. When you’ve talked to her, go find her standing by her hat in her shop.

Talk to Cece one last time to get the stylish “Cece’s Hat” for all you’ve done for Hateno.

After getting the hat and completing this quest, Cece’s shop will stock some armor for purchase. When we went, she had:

  • Hylian Pants – 120 rupees
  • hylian hood – 70 rupees
  • Royal Guard Uniform – 2,200 rupees
  • Hylian Tunic – 130 rupees

However, if you’re looking for something a little special, talk to Cece to find out that she has a private collection of rare coins from all over Hyrule. To see them, talk to her and select the “Show Me” conversation option when she appears.

You will then be able to see all the other armor pieces she has in stock. When we visited her, she had this:

However, its prices are quite steep for the sets you can find by simply exploring Hyrule.
