Data miners have discovered information about the mobile version of Call of Duty Warzone; this data suggests that the next game in Treyarch’s Black Ops series, slated for release in 2024, will be set during the Gulf War. These leaks, which have now been corroborated by well-known Call of Duty sources such as CoD_Perseussuggest that this new title will be a direct sequel to Black Ops: Cold War.
In addition to the setting information, previous leaks have also revealed other interesting details about Call of Duty Black Ops 2024. According to the information obtained, the game is planned to be limited to 6v6 game modes. It was also mentioned that the “Time to Kill” will be in line with that of Black Ops 4. It is also reported that the game will retain the sliding mechanic and the “Tactical Sprint” will only last for a few seconds after being activated.
At the moment there is no official confirmation
However, as always, it’s important to consider all of these leaks as rumors until there’s official confirmation from the developers. The data found in the code may be just that, data that once meant something and was thrown away halfway. It wouldn’t be the first time either.
The previous episode of the series, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, was released in 2020 and developed by Treyarch and Raven Software
With all the hype going on right now with Microsoft and the possible purchase of Activision Blizzard King, this could be a good announcement for Redmond if the merger takes place.
