Electronic Arts announces the development of a video game based on the Marvel superhero Black Panther.
Today the publisher Electronic Arts announced the work on Black Panther. The video game is developed by Cliffhanger Games. The newly founded studio from Seattle will work together with Marvel Games.
Cliffhanger Games describes the as-yet-unnamed game as a single-player, third-person action-adventure.
The developer writes: “Our mission is to create an expansive and responsive world that allows players to experience what it’s like to take on the mantle of Wakanda’s protector, the Black Panther.”
Behind the development is a team of experienced members who have worked on games such as Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, God of War, Halo Infinite and Call of Duty, among others. Leading the studio is Kevin Stephens, formerly of Monolith Productions.
Stephens said of the Black Panther game, “Our goal is to provide fans with a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their story than they’ve ever experienced in a story-driven video game have. Wakanda is a rich superhero sandbox, and our mission is to create an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do.”
