One of the components usually foreign to Prime Day or Black Friday are processors. This rule was broken, surely, by trying to clean up the store before the replacement arrived at the end of the year. In an unusual gesture, Intel has discounted several of its best processors by up to 48%.
The 14th generation of Intel Core processors are rumored to arrive by the end of the year. Little is known about this new family, other than a slight name change and a performance boost. They will still retain the hybrid core design and should perform better on integrated graphics.
Before the next generation of processors arrives, Intel will need to eliminate as much stock as possible. Amazon Prime Day seems like a good date to start this process. We have a Core i3 at an attractive price, several Core i5s, a Core i7 and even a Core i9.
The most interesting processor is the Intel Core i5-11400F for 104 dollars, which normally costs more than 200 dollars. This processor offers us no less than 6 cores of power and 12 threads, which is brutal for games. It has a base frequency of 2.6 GHz and can reach 4.4 GHz in Boost mode.
Perhaps the most negative thing about this processor is that it lacks integrated graphics. This means that if our graphics card fails, we will not be able to use the computer. Note that this processor only supports DDR4 RAM.
If you want something last generation, it has the Intel Core i5-13600KF for 290 dollars. This processor features 8 cores of efficiency and 6 cores of power. We are talking about a beast of a processor that operates at a base frequency of 2.6 GHz for the E-Core and 3.5 GHz for the P-Core, which can go up to 5.1 GHz.
As with the previous model, this one lacks integrated graphics as they are disabled. What is interesting is that this processor supports DDR4 RAM and also DDR5. We will therefore depend on the motherboard to choose the RAM memory.
Other interesting alternatives
We also have the Intel Core i3-13100F processor for 127 dollars. This processor has only 4 power cores and no efficiency cores. This processor operates at a base frequency of 3.4 GHz and can reach 4.5 GHz in Boost mode.
It does not have integrated graphics, as these are disabled due to allegedly being faulty during the manufacturing process. It offers us support for DDR4 or DDR5 RAM memory. The truth is that the Core i5-11400F is a much better option.
Now let’s move on to the Intel Core i5-12400 processor for 172 dollars. This processor has 6 cores and 12 threads running at a base frequency of 2.5 GHz and reaching 4.4 GHz in Boost mode. The good thing about this processor is that it includes Intel UHD 730 @ 1.45 GHz integrated graphics. It is not a graphics card for gaming, but if the dedicated graphics leave us stuck, we can continue to use the computer.
We also have the Intel Core i7-13700 processor for 377 dollars. We’re talking about a beast of a processor with 8 cores of efficiency and 8 cores of power. Efficiency cores operate at a maximum frequency of up to 4.1 GHz and power cores reach up to 5.2 GHz.
It offers us an integrated Intel UHD 770 graphics card that reaches up to 1.6 GHz which, although it is not enough to play, will allow us to continue using the computer without problems. Note that it offers support for DDR4 and DDR5, so we can choose the motherboard that interests us the most.
You may be looking to play in 4K and stream, for you there is the Intel Core i9-13900K for 551 dollars. We are talking about a brutal processor with 16 cores of efficiency and 8 cores of power. The efficient cores operate at a maximum frequency of up to 4.3 GHz and the power ones reach 5.8 GHz, total madness.
It includes the Intel UHD 770 @ 1.65 GHz graphics card, which is great to help with rendering. The ideal with this processor is to use DDR5, but it also supports DDR4.
