The latest title from Tango Gameworks will be developed with the Unreal Engine 5 according to job advertisements.
After Hi-Fi Rush, Tango Gameworks already has the next project in the pipeline. According to that LinkedIn profile Hi-Fi Rush’s character artist Masahiro Matsumura, the designer is currently working with Houdini 3D animation software and Unreal Engine 5.
The Houdini module is used in the production of effects, environments and characters, which are then inserted into the Unreal Engine 5 environment. According to his profile, the artist has been working with these programs since May, which suggests the development of a new title.
An official announcement by Tango Gameworks has not yet been made. This information should therefore be treated with caution.
However, the possible switch from Unreal Engine 4 to the current version is nothing unusual. More and more studios are using the latest model of the engine, even in the course of current development processes. Most recently, Starbreez reported that Payday 3 would also like to switch to the new graphics model after publication.
