Apple launches Tap to Pay in the UK… and is getting closer to USA

Tap to Pay Apple

New technologies created by Apple sometimes take time to spread to all countries. We have precedents such as Apple Pay or some of Apple’s own services such as News. One of the latest limited services in some countries is Tap to pay, new technology created to perform transactions between devices as if the iPhone worked as a dataphone. The service arrived in the UK

thus being the fourth country to be able to take advantage of this new and interesting service.

UK is the fourth country with Tap to Pay available

Tap to Pay was introduced a few years ago by Apple: a service that has transformed our iPhone into a real dataphone. With this service, iPhone XS or higher users can securely accept contactless payments through other devices with Apple Pay, cards and other compatible devices with other digital wallets like Google Pay. Simply put, it offered users a hardware-free option to transact. All of this thanks to NFC technology.

Until now, only the United States, Australia and Taiwan benefited from Tap to Pay. However, Apple wanted to move the tab and launched the service in the UK. With the arrival of the service, according to its press release, it will enable millions of merchants (from small businesses to large retailers) to use iPhone to accept payments without the need for additional hardware. In fact, the first agreements with Tyl or Revoult have already started to move to manage the integration of the service in the different spaces.

New dates and new countries where Tap to Pay will arrive in the coming months are unknown. However, the fact that the UK can already use this service It’s one more sign that the Big Apple continues to work to deliver its full potential to everyone.
