Miles Morales lands in the middle of a vast universe of other spider people Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. But before we see the end of the Spider-Verse trilogy next year Beyond the Spider-Verseyou should be able to relive every minute of Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix this winter.
While it’s always nice to watch a movie in the comfort of your own home, Across the spider verse has an added benefit when streaming: Easter eggs. As fans have noted, the second Spider-Verse film is full of cameo appearances, innuendos, and inside jokes, and it’s likely that fans will have to go through some of them frame by frame to really capture them.
Although we don’t know the official date Across the spider verse will be released on Netflix, we have a pretty good guess based on when previous Sony films have appeared on the platform:
When is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Across the spider verse is set to go to Netflix be fore the end of the year. The most likely month for release is around November, as Sony’s biggest films tend to hit Netflix around five months after they hit theaters.
Will Across the Spider-Verse ever come to Disney Plus?
While it may seem surprising that a Marvel film would end up on Netflix instead of Disney Plus, it’s important to remember that this is actually a Sony film and not a Disney production. Since Sony does not have its own streaming platform, the company is working with Netflix for the exclusive initial release of its films. But that doesn’t mean they will stay there forever.
We’ll just have to wait and see how long the movie will be available on the service or which streaming service it might go to after leaving Netflix.
The good news is Across the spider verse will also be available on VOD digital platforms (such as YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Apple and Vudu) on August 8th, well before it is likely to appear on Netflix. And if you buy it on one of these providers, you can watch it whether it’s on Netflix or not.
