ASSASSIN’S CREED MIRAGE

In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the main character has a special skill. While fans disagree as to whether this is too unrealistic, Ubisoft clarifies the ability.

  • Basim’s special skill is Assassin Focus.
  • This lets him teleport from opponent to opponent.
  • The game’s developer explains that the skill is not supernatural.

Ubisoft’s next game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, is getting mixed reactions ahead of release.

The game brings back memories of previous titles in the game series. The focus is on classic elements such as stealth or parkour. One innovation, however, is causing discussions, the assassin focus.

This new feature, which has Basim teleporting from one enemy to the next at lightning speed, has sparked controversy among fans. Some fans are venting their anger at the game on social media like Twitter. Some consider the skill too powerful and too supernatural.

This is how Ubisoft reacted

However, in the recently conducted “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit developer Stephane Boudon explained the mechanics behind the Assassin subclass. According to Boudon, the ability is not supernatural but a manifestation of Basim’s exceptional speed and agility.

Basim is said to be such an agile and efficient Assassin that the Animus doesn’t really keep up when using the Assassin subclass. Hence the visual effect.

It is not yet possible to say whether Bourdon’s statement will help to calm the situation. If the skill doesn’t change your anticipation, you can look forward to October 12th when the game launches on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
