A few months ago, and tired of imitators, OpenAI launched its official ChatGPT app on iPhone. It was an acclaimed launch because after months of accessing the web version, users were eager to have a ChatGPT app and there were developers who took advantage of it launch malicious applications. It was a problem because many had malware.
However, after the iPhone launch, the company confirmed that they were working on a version of ChatGPT for Android, but they didn’t give an estimated date beyond a “soon”. Now the wait is over and we will have the official app next week. AND you can register now
You can be one of the first to try the official ChatGPT app on Android
2023 has been crazy when it comes to the implementation of artificial intelligence. OpenAI got a lot of attention last yearbut curiously, it was Microsoft with its Bing browser with built-in GPT-4 that gave Android users easy access to the system.
Google wasted no time and, after a somewhat controversial launch, at Google I/O they demonstrated their new language model and the integration of their AI, Bard, with many systems. Also, although it took a while, Bard is already available in Europe, and it was clear that ChatGPT was lagging behind. Until now.
And it is that, by a message in TwitterOpenAI has confirmed that the official ChatGPT app for Android will arrive next week. They did not give a date, but they have activated a pre-registration in the Play Store which you can access through this link.
With the official app we will have an account and therefore conversation history, open source voice recognition and ad-free browsing. It can be used completely free of charge
So if you were wondering when it would arrive, you already have a launch window. We’ll see if it’s not too latesince we have seen that interest in GPT seems to be running out of steam and, in addition, Apple already seems to be working on an AI to compete with OpenAI and Google.
