Top sagas forgotten by Microsoft

forgotten, Microsoft, sagas, Top

In this top we will go around all these sagas that belong to Microsoft but have been dead for a few years

The original Xbox was launched over two decades ago, and in all those years a slew of titles have been released and many exclusive sagas have been created for these consoles. Some, over the years, have become very popular, like Halo or Gears of War, but others have not been so lucky and have fallen into oblivion.. From the Xbox community, we want to look back and revisit all those Microsoft-owned sagas that have been forgotten and deserve to come back. we start.

10. Blinx

Blinx is an action-platformer saga that was released on the first Xbox in 2002.. The protagonist of the adventure is Blinx, an animal-looking guy who sweeps time and must save the world. Blinx has a magic vacuum cleaner with which he can manipulate time at will to defeat various enemies or overcome the different platforms that we will face. Blinx was a very fun game that the press only warmly welcomed, but that didn’t stop the franchise from having a sequel that had nothing to envy to the previous title. The game was made by Naoto Oshima, designer of Sonic. On the web, we have a retro-analysis of the first and second part. A remake or remaster of these two titles wouldn’t be bad at all.

9. ReCorer

One of the most recent games on the list (as well as another we’ll get to later) is ReCore, a game released in 2016 and developed by Comcept Inc. and Armature Studios. If these names don’t ring a bell, they’ll sound like Keiji Inafume, creator of Mega Man, or Mark Pacini, boss of Metroid Prime. Both were part of the development of the title and it showed. ReCore was a platforming adventure title with a touch of metroidvania. We controlled Joule, a scavenger who had to save humanity. Joule had the help of the so-called Corebots, very useful mechanical companions in our adventure, especially in combat. Another of ReCore’s perks was its dungeons, which were an ode to level design and platforming.. ReCore is available on Game Pass and hopefully one day it will come back with a sequel.

8. Lost Odyssey

I think I’m not wrong if I say that Lost Odyssey is one of the Microsoft franchises that most users are asking for its return. Lost Odyssey is a JRPG created in 2008 by Mistwalker, a developer led by Hironobu Sakaguchi, director of all Final Fantasy games up to the tenth installment. Many users even claim that Lost Odyssey is better Final Fantasy than the current installments of the saga, so the quality of the game is very high.. The protagonist of this title is Kaim Argonar, a mercenary who has been condemned to live all eternity. This, instead of being a blessing, is a curse, as Kaim is doomed to lose all of his loved ones over the generations. The story of the title is fabulous and the optional stories that we will find are very moving. Hopefully there will be a sequel.

7. Otogui

Here we are going to cheat a little, since this saga does not belong to Microsoft but to Sega, but the two opuses that have been launched on the market are totally exclusive to the first Xbox. Otogi has two installments and they can be categorized as action RPG games. Both games were developed by nothing more and nothing less than From Software, and in the words of the studio itself, this saga was the precursor to the later creation of Dark Souls.. The first title released in 2002 put us in control of Raikoh Minamoto, an executioner who is given the mission to kill his own father. This one does not dare to do it, but for this reason the Great Seal is broken, which releases an infinity of demons which devastate the city of Kyoto. With this very interesting premise, we face countless enemies. Both installments received rave reviews from critics. Both installments are backward compatible.

6. Ryse: Son of Rome

Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One launch title released in 2013. The hack and slash action title developed by Crytek was received rather lukewarm, as despite being a graphical marvel, which still looks spectacular today, the combat was basic and repetitive. In Ryse, we controlled Marius Titus, a Roman centurion who seeks revenge after his family was slaughtered by the Barbarian Empire. It is true that the game has many flaws such as repetitive gameplay and short duration, but that is because the game has been compared to a Kinect game. In my view, It is one of the titles on the list that would have the chance to become a successful saga if a more ambitious sequel were developed..

5. Conker

Conker’s Bad Fur Day was an adventure and platform title developed by Rare and released for the Nintendo 64 in 2001. In it, we control Conker, an alcoholic squirrel who embarks on an adventure to get home with his girlfriend Berri. With this absurd beginning, endless adventures begin in a very fun game that is both playable and plot-driven. The game is full of dark humor and wildly funny situations.. After Microsoft purchased Rare, the saga became the property of Microsoft, which released a remake of this title for the original Xbox in 2005, which is backwards compatible. It was the last episode of the funny squirrel, which, despite appearing on the Rare Replay compilation, fans want a lot more.

4. Ghost Dust

Phantom Dust was released in 2004 for the original Xbox. It was a real-time strategy and action title developed by Yukio Fatatsugi, creator of Panzer Dragon. The title put us in the shoes of an unnamed character who was on an apocalyptic planet Earth. The few people still alive suffer from a kind of amnesia and our protagonist must find out what happened. With this interesting plot, we had to complete a multitude of missions full of action and combat. A remake of the game was announced in 2014, but it was canceled and a remaster was released for free on Xbox One.. This remaster left a lot to be desired, with a slew of errors and glitches. Fans are still dreaming of the revival of the remake or the release of a new opus in the saga.

3. Kameo: Elements of Power

Kameo: Elements of Power is a title developed by Rare and released in 2005 on Xbox 360. It’s an action-adventure game in which we control Kameo, a girl who has the power to transform into three magical creatures. Kameo’s half-sister, jealous of her because she has no power, kidnaps her entire family and sows chaos in the Kingdom, freeing the evil Thorn, king of the trolls. Because of this, Kameo sets out to rescue his entire family. Thanks to the power of Kameo, we will have to face various situations and we will have a wide range of possibilities in combat and in solving puzzles. The title received very positive reviews, but it did not prove to be a commercial success, so the saga is forgotten.

2. Quantum Break

Quantum Break is one of the newest titles on the list, having launched in 2016, but it looks like the saga won’t be returning any time soon. Remedy Entertainment was in charge of the development of this action and third-person shooter game, which mixed gameplay and TV series with real actors.. The story takes place at the fictional University of Riverport, USA, where a failed time travel experiment takes place. Because of this, our protagonist Jack Joyce and his partner Paul Serene gain powers that allow them to manipulate time, causing Jack to be persecuted by a company called Monarch Solutions. The game mixes blows with the powers of the protagonist, making the fights spectacular. The series that came with the game did not have the same level as the game, so the title was heavily criticized.

1. Banjo-Kazooie

Potholes and Cachibaches was the last installment to be launched in this saga. Since 2008, we haven’t had any news about this iconic saga (apart from its appearance in Rare Replay and Smash Bros) and we don’t see that we will have any new news in the near future. Banjo-Kazooie was released in 1998 on Nintendo 64 and was developed by Rare (another British studio saga). It was an adventure and platform game that, in the purest Mario 64 style, took us through 3D levels of considerable dimensions, where we had to overcome a multitude of dangers and enemies, in addition to obtaining an insane amount of collectibles.. The title turned out to be as good (or better) than the aforementioned Mario 64, so Rare released an equally good sequel. After that, Microsoft acquired Rare and released Potholes and Cachibaches, which, despite being a great game, was nothing like the previous ones. A pain.

That’s as far as that top of Microsoft’s forgotten franchises. We remember that it is a personal top, It therefore lacks a multitude of titles, such as Viva Piñata, Blue Dragon or Project Gotham Racing..Titles like Perfect Dark or Fable were not included as they have a new episode in development. Microsoft has a multitude of sagas in its possession, so it is very difficult to make a top like this. As if that weren’t enough, when Xbox’s purchase of Activision becomes effective, Microsoft will own even more franchises. From the Xbox community, we hope you enjoyed this humble article, and we look forward to hearing your personal top, which you can put in the comments.
