The messenger WhatsApp will notify you of incoming messages if you wish. As a rule, it is then specifically displayed in which chats you have received how many messages. But in rare cases, the message “Check WhatsApp: You might have new messages” also appears on your phone. What’s it all about?
The message usually only appears if there are at least temporary problems with the connection between your cell phone and the WhatsApp servers. Because then the messenger cannot provide specific information about the number of messages received and resorts to this vague formulation.
Indication of problems with the Internet connection
There are many reasons for such connection problems. Maybe WhatsApp is having a glitch right now. Then all you can do is wait for it to be fixed.
But maybe you are in a dead spot or in a place with a bad cell phone connection. In this case it helps to change the location or to connect to a WLAN so that the app can establish a stable connection to the servers.
