Given the success of The Mandalorian, Disney decided to use this part of the Star Wars universe to offer new content. So, after three seasons of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, it’s Jedi Ahsoka’s turn to claim her own show. Who is Ahsoka and when is the series set?
For those who have not followed, we want to remind you“ Ahsoka is a character who originally appeared in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. She is initially the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker.
In this character-dedicated miniseries, Ahsoka is set between 7 and 9 ABY, seven and nine after the Battle of Yavin (Star Wars IV: A New Hope), three and five years after Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi. For her part, Sabine Wreck is a Mandalorian with colorful hair and clothes, who has a penchant for graffiti and art in general. Thanks to its popularity Disney has decided to make him the main antagonist of the Mandover in the 2026 film that will serve as the culmination of this part of the Star Wars universe.
A series that can bring back the Star Wars hype?
Aside from all the elements we recognize in this trailer, it also hints at a series that perfectly captures the Star Wars spirit that has made the saga so popular over the decades. Between the different planets, the spaceship pursuits and especially the lightsaber duel, everything seems to fall into place to offer an adventure that will satisfy the general public.. When we find what people love about Star Wars, we also discover a lot of new things. We’re already following a cast of all-female characters, which is rare enough in Star Wars to be qualified. And then we face new antagonists: Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi who survived Order 66 and fled to the Unknown Regions, and his apprentice Shin Hati. Both wielding orange lightsabers and working alongside Grand Admiral Thrawn, suggesting their intentions and temptation to the dark side of the Force.
Between the references for the fans and what his adventure promises, Ahsoka promises to be the series that can reignite the hype surrounding Star Wars projects. We can’t wait to discover it all exclusively on Disney+ starting August 23.
