One of the biggest hassles we all have experienced when switching iPhones is our message history passing from one to another. Failure to do so can be a huge problem.and it is a long, slow and tedious process which, until now, it was impossible to cut short.
We depended on iCloud for that, basically. What if we don’t have enough space? Well bad luck. However, it is something that META they just changed thanks to WhatsApp’s latest beta update
Faster and without needing space in iCloud
As reported www.wabetainfo.com, the latest available version of WhatsApp (23.14.79) includes the ability to transfer chats from one iPhone to another without intermediate backup, which makes everything much faster. It’s still not enabled for pretty much everyone, and will appear on our iPhone in the coming weeksalthough the process is already defined.
On your old phone, you will need to access the WhatsApp application itself, and from there to Setting
When this screen arrives, a QR code will appear that we will have to scan with our old iPhone, and once you have done our chats will start transferring. You will need to keep both devices unlocked and without leaving WhatsApp. It’s a process that won’t take long and can be undone at any time.
It’s a much more nimble way to be able to transfer chats from one phone to another than what we’ve experienced so far. We don’t have to make sure we have space in iCloud, or anything. Just scan a QR and wait. We’ll test it when the iPhone 15 comes out to see how it works, but it certainly promises.
