A job posting from Criterion Games indicates ongoing development work on a new Need for Speed offshoot.
Although it’s only been eight months since the release of the open-world racing game Need for Speed Unbound, developer Criterion Games already seems to be working on a sequel.
In one released by the studio vacancy for a World Artist to assist the team in a new and exciting endeavor to create an open world that offers the player a fast-paced, visceral, and authentic experience, reads as follows:
“With a proud history of working on beloved franchises like Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront and Burnout, we’re now defying the conventions of the racing game genre to take the Need For Speed franchise to the next level.”
If the rumor is true, the next Need for Speed offshoot after Hot Pursuit, Most Wanted, Rivals, Hot Pursuit Remastered and Unbound would be the sixth part of the racing game series with the participation of the former Burnout makers Criterion Games.
