A glitch allows players to duplicate rare cars in GTA Onlineby trapping and murdering in-game prostitutes. The whole story is pretty macabre, and Rockstar tried patching this exploit a few weeks ago.
However, players have now found a new way to use this glitch again: There are already a few instructions on YouTube – such as from East Kentucky Outlaw, who shares his personal method in the video.
How does the auto-duplication glitch work?
To trigger the glitch in GTA Online, players needed three things: A car from their own garage, a Mobile Operations Center (MOC) and a prostitute who spawns in the game world at night.
- To trigger the exploit, the player has to invite a prostitute into their car.
- The car must be parked in such a way that the prostitute cannot flee – this works, for example, by parking directly next to the MOC so that the passenger door is blocked.
- The player has to get out of the car and shoot the car's engine until it starts to burn, but does not explode – the car is already "destroyed".
- The player then has to call his insurance company – that is, the in-game, not the real one – to enter his garage and leave the car that is to be duplicated.
- With this car, the player must now drive to the car in which the NPC is sitting and murder him. The van with the prostitute's body in it disappears.
- Now the player can drive the car to be duplicated into the MOC to trigger the glitch.

Rockstars fight the auto glitch
A few weeks ago, players used a different but similar method to duplicate expensive and rare cars in GTA Online. However, Rockstar released a patch to prevent that players continue to exploit this exploit.
The original glitch worked by shooting the NPC to trigger the exploit. Apparently, Rockstar's patch only ensured that the NPC died before the glitch was triggered. Now players have found that the glitch is also initiated if the car is only set on fire.
