Because of the number of people we touch, keyboards can quickly become a breeding ground for dirt to accumulate. It is the germs that live in this dirt that can pose a serious threat to your health.
Fortunately, there are some tasks that can be done to properly clean your keyboard without damaging it in any way.
Although these tips should be practiced at any time, they are invaluable in their writing. The constant threat of coronavirus in Spain and around the world means that hygiene is a top priority.
1. Turn off your computer
Switching off the computer is an important step because, after all, the computer is an electrical device, and the combination of liquids and electricity increases the risk of a bad accident.
2. Shake well
We understand, you like to eat while using your PC and laptop. Whether it's a workout meal or a snack while you've finished watching the series, many of these foods tend to be crumbly. Because of this, it would be easy for small pieces of food to sit between buttons.
However, there is a simple solution for this. Carefully lift your device (or disconnect its keyboard), move it face down and shake. Obviously not misleading, but gentle movement from either side should clear the trash from any explosion.
3. Take the canal of compressed air
Although it does not preclude the typing experience, small pieces of dirt can easily accumulate on the keyboard. It is not always possible to shake all the small pieces of sand and dirt that can accumulate on keyboards.
This is where saving compressed air is helpful. You can get them at Hardware stores or order online for very little money.
Currently, at Amazon Spain we have received a package four cans of € 10,64 of the AAB PC Spray product.
Usually, this type of spray comes with a plastic straw that allows you to direct the gun. To clean up any obstructed crumbs, sprinkle the boat by moving from left to right on the keyboard, with a piece of grass half an inch from the keys, then rotating the side keyboard and repeat the process.
This is how Apple recommends it the latest MacBooks.
4. Clean the keys
As part of the keyboard you communicate a lot with, the keys will definitely need some attention. There are several ways to clean it, depending on the type of keyboard you have. For large desktop keyboards, including mechanics, it is best to use cotton-coated isopropyl alcohol or ethanol-based solution.
This may take a while, but it will make sure you clean it as thoroughly as possible.
There are several ways to clean the buttons. On machine keyboards and large desks, you can take your time using cotton swabs embedded in isopropyl alcohol or alcohol to clean the sides of each button.
If you have a regular laptop keyboard, or something with a small key, you should use a clean cloth to clean the surface. It is also best to fill this with alcohol and carefully clean the affected area.
If you do not have any alcohol-based cleaning products available, antibacterial wet wipes are the best option. However, after cleaning any type of keyboard, be sure to wet the cloth with water and re-apply it. This is especially important for portable keyboards, where there is a high risk of alcohol entering the screen.
There is also a strange new way of cleaning buttons, which consists of using gel packs to clean keyboards. These are similar to the kind of drool that children like to do in art lessons, but they can be an effective way to remove dirt and complexity. Just open the container, pour the gel over the keys, and take it out again.
The two stone pack is available at Amazon Spain for 15.99 euros.
It should be noted that it seems a bit bizarre, but in fact it is much more fun than playing with cleaning fluid and high pressure, in addition to giving surprising results.
