The role-playing game EVE Online is so large and complex that it almost borders on real life in many areas. Unfortunately EVE Online can too just as cruel as reality be – and recently a player had to experience this firsthand.
The player with the user name Lactose Intolerant In-game items valued at approximately ISK 500 billion lost. That roughly corresponds to a real money value of over 4,000 euros. The reason for this was an attack by bandits who stalked and completely destroyed a player's goods carrier.

How could that happen?
This violent loss of lactose intolerant has been the subject of intense discussion on the EVE community since the day before yesterday on Reddit, and some players are even making fun of the unfortunate. However, this is also because lactose is intolerant ignored two safety precautions that are a matter of course for EVE players Has.
- The player's transport ship was an orca. These large freighters are actually only used for large sums of minerals because they are very slow and poorly armed. Lactose Intolerant, however, bunkered about 800 blueprints needed for the construction of ships. These blueprints can therefore be extremely valuable.
- In addition, although his orcas' trade route ran through a generally well-protected area, Lactose Intolerant chose a somewhat more remote route. This path is usually avoided by traders, as attacks by other players are not uncommon here. Rather the opposite.
Originally, there was even a rumor that lactose intolerant steered its freighter with autopilot. However, the player himself claims otherwise.
Why was the player so careless
Precisely because this immense loss would have been avoidable and no experienced EVE player with so many expensive blueprints just takes a walk, the community is partly stunned.
Some therefore suspected that it must have been a so-called "credit card warrior". A player who actually has no experience, but simply puts a lot of real money into the game to buy important resources in this way.
But that doesn't seem to be the case. Meanwhile, the director of the corporation, to which lactose intolerant belonged, has spoken out. He told Reddit that the player had been playing EVE Online for 16 years and was a "slightly older but very stubborn gentleman".
The director said that they did not want to punish the player for his mistake. However, the incident and reaction of the community lactose has been intolerant still hit so hardthat he left the corporation and probably also turns his back on EVE Online himself.
