Roger and Brianna are arguing!

"The Layman" began in the church in Season 5, Episode 5 of the 1960s. Claire was there thinking about the similarities between God and time. She then met Brianna and told her that she had lost a patient earlier due to an allergic reaction to penicillin. In fact, he has been checked for intolerance before, but even then you can only be sure of 95%.
In the past, Claire was looking for the right ingredients to make penicillin. Brianna and Roger talked about Roger's thoughts about working at the university, but felt that he was Jamie's militia in advance. The militia arrived in Hillsborough, but Jamie's squad was unpopular there and was initially considered a regulator. After the error was resolved, Hillsboro residents were still busy serving the city's Red Army soldiers.
Lieutenant Red Knock of Redcoats proudly told Jamie that he had taken the prisoner's credentials from Ardsmuir, perhaps to learn more about Murtagh's allies. Claire tests Kezzie for allergies to penicillin and then starts clearing the tonsils. Then it was Josiah's turn.
Roger found a diamond made by Stephen Bonnet in Brianna's jewelry box. He confronted her and Brianna said that she had obtained diamonds from Bonnet when she visited him in prison. She also told him that her child came from him to comfort him shortly before his avoidable death. Roger wants to know from Brianna that she considers her true father to be a child. When Brianna couldn't answer, he disappeared.
Claire later spoke to Roger and told him to deal with when he and Brianna were in good health. With flowers, he returned to Brianna, who told him that Stephen Bonnet was still alive and she was scared. Roger plans to know if Jamie is on the road and will return in time to travel. In Hillsboro, the militia was disbanded and Jamie and his soldiers could then return home.
Before that, Knox and Jamie played chess with each other. After Knox received the prison documents, he realized that Jamie and Mutag were related. Jamie tried to explain, but Knox was angry, which was why Jamie had to strangle him. Thereafter, Jamie returned to Claire, but brought a cat named Aso found on his way home.
