Nvidia is now canceling the replacement event for the replacement event of the GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2020 due to the global corona crisis. So it will be for the time being no announcements about new products, especially the amp graphics cards.
Nvidia said earlier this monthto cancel the GTC because of the global corona crisis – it should have been in March. Instead, there should be the in-house exhibition or the corresponding keynote as a purely online event.
However, this was also canceled a few days ago and promised news with announcements. Now, however, even the news was rejected.
Why is there no news after all?
In a short post, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang aptly explains why there will be no GTC announcements for the time being:
"We have exciting products and news that we want to share with you. But this is simply not the right time. Our employees, partners, the media and analysts who follow us, as well as our customers all over the world, can count on it focus on protecting themselves and slowing the spread of the virus (coronavirus). "

What does this mean for the release?
Even if there are no concrete announcements for the time being, this does not necessarily mean that Nvidia's new generation of graphics cards, Ampere, probably also known as RTX 3000, will not be released in 2020.
It depends on many factors such as production chains, available resources, possible restrictions in production processes and much more. However, delays due to the corona crisis cannot be ruled out.
