There are many good things in Android and superior to iOS, Apple should copy them to iPhone to improve the experience.
It is not easy to know which of the two operating systems is better, iOS or Android. But what we do know is that There are certain features present in Google’s operating system that Apple should copy and integrate into the iPhone
Place apps in the bottom area
Since the beginning of iOS, called iPhone OS in its first versions, Apps were automatically organized from right to left and top to bottom
It is something which in Android does not exist since most manufacturers allow applications to be placed wherever the user wants them. This is something Apple should have copied a long time ago, because, especially on iPhones with larger screens, accessing the top area of the screen can be uncomfortable.
Notification Center
Apple has redesigned the iOS notification center several times so it’s a real chaos for us and, although in the latest versions everything seems to be more organized and Apple allows you to customize notifications on the iPhone in a certain way, on Android it is something that is much better managed and seems more organized.
Sound controls
There are few things harder in iOS than managing notification sounds. It’s really complex to control notification sounds, call volume, app sounds, alarms… and really hard to know how everything is configured.
In Android we have a menu specially designed for this from which we can control all these aspects with a slider. Because you might want a high volume for your notifications, but not for the alarm, and you want to be clear about that at all times.
Temporarily disable features of all apps
This is a very interesting function present in the latest versions of Android which Allows you to quickly disable functions such as camera, microphone, location or NFC
It is true that on the iPhone you can do something similar since Settings > Privacy & Security and revoke an app’s camera, microphone, location, and other permissions. But this Android option is faster and is only temporarily disabled.
No more third-party apps by default
On the iPhone we can use other Default email or web browser apps instead of using Apple’s we can configure Google Chrome as the default browser instead of Safari. However, many other applications cannot be configured this way.
Calendar apps, camera apps, virtual assistant or default photo app. There are some really good third-party apps that would be great to use in this way on the iPhone, but it’s not possible at the moment.
